Where to Buy

Where are Dr Praeger’s products sold?

Dr Praeger’s products can be found in the freezer section at most conventional and natural grocers along with specialty stores nationwide. Natural Frozen Food Ingredients

Do your products contain peanuts or tree nuts?

We do not use any peanuts or tree nuts in our manufacturing facility.

What type of oil do you use?

We use a Non-GMO Project Verified source of expeller pressed* canola oil and/or sunflower oil. We use expeller pressed canola oil and/or sunflower oil because they contain the least amount of saturated fat of any cooking oils and include Omega-3 fatty acids, making them some of the most heart healthy oils. They are neutral tasting which allows us to showcase the flavor of our ingredients.
*Expeller pressed oil is extracted using pressure and friction, NOT chemicals.

Do your products contain sesame?

The only items that contain sesame oil are the Korean and Asian Veggie Burgers. While the other items do not contain sesame, they may share a production line with products that do.

Why do your package labels with Gluten Free Certification also include a “made in a facility that uses wheat” disclaimer?

We include this statement for full transparency. We do have wheat in our manufacturing facility although it is not in our Gluten Free Certified products. Our Gluten Free products are certified by a third party company that is aware of our manufacturing, cleaning and production processes. We stand behind our Gluten Free Certified products due to our strict cleaning procedures, manufacturing practices, and testing.

Why do your package labels indicate that products are processed in a facility that also processes fish, soy, wheat and eggs?

We include this information to provide full disclosure of the fact that all of our products are manufactured in a facility where these ingredients are present. The equipment is thoroughly cleaned prior to manufacturing products that don’t contain these ingredients in order to prevent cross-contamination.

Preparation

How do you cook Dr. Praeger’s products? Do you need to use additional oil?

Most of Dr. Praeger’s products can be cooked in a toaster oven, oven, or skillet and do not require additional oil when using a non stick pan or cooking sheet. However, it may be helpful when cooking our seafood products to use a little oil to avoid sticking. Cooking instructions can be found on the back of all boxes or on the individual product pages on our website.

Storage

Can Dr. Praeger’s products be stored in the refrigerator instead of freezer?

No. Dr. Praeger’s products should always be stored in the freezer. If a Dr. Praeger’s product is left out of the freezer for a prolonged period, we recommend that the box and its contents be discarded. Once a product is cooked, it can be kept in the refrigerator for up to two days.
