For the Burgers:

4 Dr. Praeger’s Perfect Burgers

1, 13-oz package frozen onion rings

2 potato or pretzel buns

4 slices vegan American cheese

2-4 tbsp spicy vegan aioli or mayonnaise

2-4 tbsp BBQ sauce


For the Tempeh Bacon:

1 package tempeh

2 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 tbsp real maple syrup

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder


  1. Thinly slice the tempeh into strips. Whisk together the remaining ingredients and pour over the tempeh slices. Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350F. Add the Perfect Burger patties and onion rings to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cook for 10 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium, and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, carefully arrange the marinated tempeh into an even layer, and cook for 2-4 minutes on each side.
  4. Toast the buns, if desired, and spread with aioli or mayonnaise. Stack each bun with two Perfect Burger patties and vegan cheese slices, layering in slices of tempeh bac’n and onion rings. Top with BBQ sauce, and enjoy!
