Yes, all of Dr. Praeger’s products are certified kosher. Look for these logos such as OU on each package.

Where are your products produced?

Most of our products are produced at our facility in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.

Where are Dr Praeger’s products sold?

Accepted Answer

Dr Praeger’s products can be found in the freezer section at most conventional and natural groceries along with specialty stores nationwide.  Our website has a terrific store locator at DrPraegers.com or you can also find products online at 3rd party shopping sites, but we do not have our own e-store.

What ingredients do you use in your products?

Dr. Praeger’s creates products that contain only the finest ingredients that consumers can easily recognize, including vegetables, herbs and spices. We take pride in sourcing products that you can both pronounce and recognize.

Why do you use canola oil?

Accepted Answer

We use a Non GMO Project verified source of expeller pressed canola oil because it contains the least amount of saturated fat of any cooking oil, making it one of the most heart healthy oils including Omega-3 fatty acids. It is neutral tasting which allows us to showcase the flavor of our fish, vegetables, herbs and spices.  (Expeller pressed: Oil is extracted using pressure and friction, NOT chemicals)

Why do your package labels indicate that products are processed in a facility that also processes fish, soy, wheat and eggs?

We include this information to provide full disclosure of the fact that all of our products are manufactured in a facility where these ingredients are present. The equipment is thoroughly cleaned prior to manufacturing products that don’t contain these ingredients in order to prevent cross-contamination.

Do Dr. Praeger’s products have MSG?

No MSG. All of Dr. Praeger’s natural frozen foods are free of MSG.

How do you cook Dr. Praeger’s products?  Do you need to use oil?

Accepted Answer

Most of Dr. Praeger’s products require a toaster oven, oven or skillet and do not require adding  oil when using a non stick pan/cooking sheet . However, it may be helpful when cooking our seafood products to use oil to avoid sticking.  For your benefit a list of all cooking instructions can be found on the back of each box.

What is the best way to prepare your Veggie Burgers & Veggie Cakes?

While Dr. Praeger’s Veggie Burgers and Veggie Cakes can be prepared in a skillet, on the grill, in an oven or in the microwave, we recommend preparing them in a conventional or toaster oven for best taste and texture. Prepare as directed on the packaging, keeping in mind that cooking times may vary based on your specific appliance. To prevent the burger or veggie cake from falling apart, wait until each side is browned and crispy before flipping with a spatula. The crisp outside is what holds the burger together. For a firmer center, cook longer.

Can Dr. Praeger’s products be stored in the refrigerator instead of freezer?

Accepted Answer

No. Dr. Praeger’s products should always be stored in the freezer. If a Dr. Praeger’s product is left out of the freezer for a prolonged period, we recommend that the box and its contents be discarded. Once a product is cooked, it can be kept in the refrigerator for up to two days.

Are Dr. Praeger’s products fully cooked before being flash frozen?

Accepted Answer

No. They are only partially cooked, which is why it’s important to prepare/cook them as directed on the packaging and heat them to an internal temperate of 165 degrees F.
