Wanderlust Events & Non-Profit Partners
Saturday, October 22nd in Miami: On Saturday, October 22nd Dr. Praeger’s meets the South Florida yoga community at Wanderlust Miami 108 heating up a delicious breakfast and veggie burger treat for all attendees. In Miami, we’ll be accepting donations to Million Trees Miami Campaign. They have a community-wide effort to plant 1 million trees by 2020 to achieve a 30 percent tree canopy cover for Miami-Dade County. This campaign was developed by the Miami-Dade Community Image Advisory Board and was born of the idea that a healthy and sustainable urban forest provides significant social, economic, and environmental benefits that fosters a high quality, livable, vibrant, and beautiful community.
On Sunday, September 11th, the Brooklyn and greater NYC community came together for a day of yoga bliss and veggie burgers of course! We partnered with God’s Love We Deliver, NYC’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses.
July 14-17th in Squaw Valley, California: Dr. Praeger’s served up all-new 4 Potato Hash Browns and veggie burgers in Squaw Valley, California while raising awareness and funds to the Food Literacy Center. They’re a nonprofit 501(c)(3) established in 2011 in Sacramento, California, with the mission of inspiring kids to eat their vegetables. Just like us 🙂 The organization provides low-income elementary children with after school programming at 8+ schools throughout the Sacramento County Unified School District that teaches cooking and nutrition to improve health, environment and economy.
From June 30-July 3rd we were in gorgeous Snowmass, Colorado. It was great to be in the Rockies for Wanderlust as we supported a Denver non-profit called Re:Vision. Their mission is to cultivate thriving, resilient communities by developing local leaders and empowering residents to discover their own leadership abilities, growing community food systems, and building a locally-owned economy. They’ve helped more than 400 families grow their own food and look to increase those numbers every year by teaming up with us as we accepted donations at Wanderlust Aspen-Snowmass during the weekend. Thanks Colorado!
June 16-19th was a blast in The Green Mountain State! In Vermont we received donations for Vermont Farm Fund! They support countless, local Vermont farmers and food producers, one after another. Your friendly donations along with other donors make an initial loan to help sustain and grow the Vermont agricultural economy. As that loan is repaid, monies will go back into the pool to be lent back out again and again. Thank you Wanderlust Vermont attendees for having a role in this great cause!
May 22 in Chicago, Illinois: Thank you Seattle 108! We truly appreciate your donation with us on behalf of Sustainable Seattle’s communities, environments, and economies by providing a framework for advancing sustainability awareness, knowledge, attitudes, values, behaviors, and system characteristics.
May 14 in Chicago, Illinois: We just had a blast here and we thank all attendees whom generously donated to local non-profit, Growing Home. Growing Home operates two USDA-certified organic farms and sell their produce at local Chicago markets, yum!
